EXPENSIVE…my advice, get your book list for your first classes and buy them used online at half.com or amazon.com

I usually set a budget of about 100 bucks a class.

Sometimes the college may have their own texts for certain classes which can be a pain to buy.

If you want to beat your bookstore, I usually go in a few days early, grab the ISBN numbers off the books I need for my classes and then shop online for something cheaper. I try to avoid buying used books as the resale value on those is greatly diminished.

it depends on where you buy them, you can save about 50% bu purchasing them online. Try the site Textbook411.com – they show you the price of any book at all the major online bookstores… so you always get the best price!

English books are usually cheaper, because they typically have you read old crappy novels and such.

Math books are typically overpriced (>$100)

Spanish books should be moderately price, because they are widely used ($50-100)

Psychology books are typically overpriced as well (~$100)

University 101 varies from school to school, my school made their own packet and it was expensive.

Hope this helps~!
