How good (or bad) are schools in Boynton Beach, Florida?

Thinking about moving to Boynton Beach, Florida but we have no idea about the schools. Does anyone know or can recommend a good area in South Palme Beach County?

ive lived in palm beach county my whole life and played/coached football against all the high schools in and around the boynton area and southern p.b. county. theres quite a few schools to choose from…..

Atlantic(5A)- hands down a top 5 team year in and year out in the county, they always have good players at the skill positions(search omar jacobs and preston parker 2 recent notable alums), always playoff team but have ran into the powerful St. Thomas Aquinas team from broward in the 1st round the past 3 years, i think their worst record in the reg. season i can remember is 7-3, coaching is suspect but college coaches raid the roster every year they usually have 3-5 kids who can play at the D1-A level

Boca(4A)- a decent team, around 6-4 to 4-6 most years, some great talent has past through the halls(the Bellisari brothers one was a QB 1 a LB both started at ohio state, yvenson bernard is the current starting rb at oregon state, tyler rice recently, many many more) im pretty sure they have a new head coach this year

Boynton Beach(5A or 4A)- DO NOT GO HERE!! i think this year will be the schools 7th and they have never won more than 3 games, a few talented athletes but they dont play as a team, they went 2-8 last year with a freshman QB, new head coach this year

Olympic Heights(4A)- another well below average team, although they do have a good young coach, talent is scarce and wins scarcer, 2-8 last year with a young team with around 35 kids on the roster, slowly improving but will never be a playoff team

Park Vista(6A)- going 2 be a 4th year school and has already made the playoffs the past 2 seasons, solid coaching, some decent athletes, a soph. QB who is going to be an absolute stud, around 6-4 the past 2 years, moving up to 6A from 5A might slow them down a little bit, but definetly a school to think about

Spanish River(5A or 4A)- no hope in sight for this school, a few notable alums(jason geathers, jason cherry), never a playoff team the past 4 years and probably not in the near future, a new head coach this season, usually wins 2-3 games but could manage to go 5-5 if a few breaks went their way, just not enough talent to win in a tough district

Santaluces(5A)- a program with a storied tradition of district championships and playoff runs has fallen off the map recently, mostly due to the opening of new schools taking talent away, 3-7 last year i think, many great players in the past(steve dell, austin capi, a kid who started at mich. state cant think of his name) athletic group, a new coach this year but he coached santaluces before for 10 years and won like 6 district titles, he knows what hes doing, another school to think about but they play in a tough district with atlantic i think

West Boca(5A)- another 4th year school, this would be my choice if i was you, 8-2 last year 2nd round of the playoffs, dominated teams last year, great coach and great athletes, talent flocks to this school, this team is only going to get better

2 private schools that are not good at all…

i dont know what position or grade you are in, but based solely on the programs, i’d rank them…

1. west boca

2. atlantic

3. park vista

4. boca

5. santaluces

6. olympic heights

7. spanish river

8. boynton beach

i hope this helps, good luck in your search, what position and grade are you in? if you have any questions you can e-mail me at [email protected]
