how do you pronounce oke doke?
My middle school students are engaged in an on-going argument about the pronunciation of Oke Doke popcorn. Some say it is Okie Doke (long “e” on the first word and silent “e” on the second word). Others say that there is a long “e” in both words so that it sounds like Okie Dokie. This is how I always thought it was pronounced. Some say in the commercial on tv, the prnounce it like Okie Dokie. Does anybody out there know the correct pronunciation?

I’ve heard it both ways. I think Okie Doke may be short for Okie Dokie. lol

I’ve always thought ‘okie dokie’ was spelled Okey Dokey. Therefore Oke Doke should be ‘oak doak.’
But I think that’s how the brand name pronounces it, just another example of real life spelling and pronunciation not mirroring actual spelling and pronunciation. i.e. Playskool brand.
