How are the dorms at UCI?

It depends on which residence area you’re referring to. There are two traditional freshman residence areas, Middle Earth and Mesa Court. Middle Earth is closer to the core of the campus, so it’s a little bit more active. Mesa Court can be described as “suburban” in nature–quieter and with a bit more green area. Just like the city of Irvine, both are well kept.

Also keep in mind that the insides of the residence halls themselves are not all the same. Some of the dorms were built nearly 30 years ago. Others are just several years old.
