You have to look at the total cost of the misture and divide it by the total pounds.
So
10 pounds of Almonds @ 9/lb = 90 dollars
3 1/3 pounds of Cashews @ 5/lb = 16.6667
That is a total of $106.6667 divided by 13.3333 lbs. = $8/lb

I can’t tell you how to get this answer except trial and error, but 3.311875 lbs of cashews and 10 lbs of almonds will be about $8/ lb.

A few confused answers here.
Let c be the niumber of pounds of cashews.
We want c*5 + 10*9 = (c+10)*8
So 5c + 90 = 8c + 80
so 3c = 10
so c = 3.333 pounds.
.
Hope this helps.
