Help – What are some teach for america type programs?

I’m looking for programs like Teach for America but not that. I’m looking to earn a Master’s Degree in Math Education but can’t really afford it and I know there are some programs that provide money & rent payments for work. Any ideas?

(No teach for america since I’m looking in Boston and they dont serve there)

Every state in America right now will pay for your education.

Our schools are DYING for math teachers!

If you’re looking for Mass in particular, check out the:

Aspiring Teachers Tuition Waiver Scholarship

http://www.umass.edu/education/financial_aid.htm

at UMass Amhurst.

If you have an undergraduate degree in Math, you can get hired to teach on an Emergency/Alt. teaching license right away. As you work, you attend grad classes for your M.A.T. and the school system pays for everything. All you have to do is just apply to the school district. Go to the school district website, employment, and find out how to apply.

I have a license to teach in virginia. Over there, the state will pay a large portion of your tution and all you have to do is commit to teach in VA for 3 years.

Yale graduate school of education will give you a free ride through grad school if you committ to teach in New Haven for three years.

GOOD LUCK!
