Read books and magazines (online or printed), read the newspaper, join a book club or hang out in Borders (or any bookstore where you can sit and read) or the library.

Lessen your exposure to written word that is not spelled correctly, ie: text messages, chat/leet speak, etc..

Use spell-check, but pay close attention to the changes it suggests before selecting.

The more you do, the better you’ll get at it. Good luck.

The best way is to identify your first 1000 most common, everyday but tricky words you are likely to use. Then enter them one by one either at Google or Ask in Y!A(using Check Spelling). If you do this daily, you shall be a good speller before long. Alternatively, invest in a small dictionary and check up on words you have problems with.Spend some time reading the papers, magazines to gain additional exposure on the common words.

This is anytime more effective than getting someone to teach you how to spell. It is mainly personal effort and memory work.

Happy exploring and best of luck!

There are really no tricks……just practice, practice, practice.

Kids these days are luckier than when I was in school. You have the advantage of spell check. Always use it! Then, when you see you have misspelled a word, try to remember the spelling next time. I taught English (including spelling) for many years. I always use spell check. Hang in there and your spelling will eventually improve.

Try using spell check in Microsoft word.

Read 30 pages every day, until you read 1 page per minute. ~

Then you’ll know how and enjoy it. Have done that with 2 nephews.
