Has anyone read “The Afterlife by Gary Soto”?
I was assigned to read it for my summer homework.
I am suppose to chose a sentence from the book and turn it into a quote; then explain why that quote is important to the book. Anyone know a good sentence from the book that I can use as a quote? Im considering this, but I really am not sure; “I remember Dad saying that life is a journey that ends in the same place where you begin.” I dont know what to say from there. I need help

Guys are totally clueless about women and what they really want. A guy thinks with the wrong head always. If he thought about how to make a woman happy, with the shoulder head, the other head would be taken care of without worry.

A transformation from life to death becomes Gary Soto’s guide for boys passing through a similar transformation into adulthood: drugs, murder, revenge, poverty, football, and love. Our actions linger after we are gone.
