gpa in highschool?

does the difference of a high and a low A matter for the college admissions(highly selective ones)? I mean do the colleges even know if you got a 100, 99, or barely got an A with a 93? more impotantly, do they care?

An A is a A, but an A- is less than an A, and an A+ is more significant than an A. It depends on the grading system of the school– if you school has a 90-100 equals an A then that is all the school can go by. But if a 90-93 equals and A- then they of course know that you barely got an A. All A’s, whether they are minus or plus is still pretty good and most colleges will see that. If you are looking at the Ivy’s like Harvard, U Penn, Brown, etc. then you would have to have a gpa higher than a 4.0 through honors, AP, and weighted courses.

on your final transcript your final GPA will not be a letter grade

they’ll be in a 4 point system example: 4.0, 3.5, 3.0, 2.5, 2.0

so to answer your question, yes your GPA does matter . if they see that you have a 3.66 that is an A in high school (96. something)

your GPA does matter but your ACT/SAT scores carry a lot of weight so worry about those grades and less about your GPA.

when you get to college your GPA is dependent upon how many credit hours you are taking and your grade for each class.

my gpa is rated on if you have an A B C D or F so i wouldn’t think they would know from your gpa

however colleges require transcripts not just gpa so they would know anyway

i really dont think that they would care if you have a high A or not
