Does it matter where you go to undergrad school?

One thing you need to keep in mind though is that you really need to keep your grades up if you want to apply to grad school. What you study as an undergrad and grad student don’t necessarily have to relate, but if you’re not getting good grades you won’t get accepted to a good school. Grad schools are much more competitive than undergrad colleges.
I had a friend who sat on the admission committee at Harvard a few years ago for their grad program. She said they threw away all the applications that didn’t come from Harvard, CalTech, or Berkeley. Even after we had paid the $90 application fee.
Some firms, such as the top investment banks and consulting companies, recruit from a small list of top name schools. If you think that investment banking or consulting are fields that interest you, you might be smart to consider going to a school on their target lists. That said, if you are looking to get into a less competitive field, your college might not make as big of a difference.
Going to a good grad school is important, but remember that you have to get into the grad school first. Grad schools take into consideration the difficulty of your uindergraduate program. If you decide on an easier or lesser known undergraduate program, you will have to make sure that your academic performance really stands out to gain acceptance into a top level graduate program.
Just my 2 cents.
