Could this be the end of someone’s college career?

If you went to college and you still didn’t know what to do so you tried Business out, got good grades(you went to a community college) and the next school year you decided to try out psychology. Well the summer following that school year you were raped(You were one of those naive stupid people who have no clue how a guy acts when he wants some; now you do), and you had a tough school year and one semester you didn’t go to class at all because you were still suffering. The school gave you one last chance, and you went back to Business. First semester was great but second semester the guys started to harass you because you weren’t a pushover anymore. So the harassment lead to slander and more harassment and at the end of the school year the cafe employees decided to slander your name. The dean threatened charges but she never followed through so you dropped out.

Is there a way to start again at another college a few years later, after finding out what you really want to do? How

Wow!

Good for you for going back to school. And yes you can go back to school. Contact the school you would like to attend and talk talk to a course counselor and they should be able to get you the paperwork, and requirements that you need.

Make sure you explain to them that there were extraneous circumstances to your dropping out (you do not need to go into details, just tell them that because of some extreme personal problems you were unable to finish the semester).

Good Luck and Best Wishes…

You absolutely can go back to school. However, your past grades will impact your ability to transfer into a four-year program.

You may, in fact, want to consider a small, private, two year college (often called a “junior college”) – one which pays you a lot of personal attention, and where the administration will help you make sure that you graduate. It’s not that the work is easier, but it’s the type of school where if you start missing classes, they contact you and try to help you figure out a way through the issues that are preventing you from attending class. This usually isn’t a community college. It could be a two year school, but one which is private. Dean College, in Mass., may be a fit. I’ll attach a link to all of the private, two year colleges in the US, so you can investigate those close to you.

Many junior colleges offer open admissions, or are non-competitive, so that your past grades and etc. won’t overly impact your chances of getting in.

I’m not sure where you are located, but in my region, there are a lot of schools like this.

Is there a way to start again at another college – Yes. Especially if you’re looking at small colleges, they are usually really understanding when it comes to individual situations. If your grades are bad for a semester or so, and you have a reason, write a letter explaining the situation to the admissions counselor. It’ll be hard to do but worth it in the end – it could also effect your financial aid.

Or, turn your admissions essay into a reflection on how yes all this bull **** happened to you but you ended up stronger in the end and now you’re ready to tackle life full force, etc. College admissions offices love that stuff.

(On another note, I go to a women’s college and they are really great and supportive when it comes to Sexual Assult. The whole school comes out for our Bring Back the Night event.)

You can always further your education, in some cases the courses you did take, at your community college like your general ed, might be able to be put for credit, but I would say if you were to apply to a college a few years down the road meet one on one with an admissions rep to explain your unique, and unfortunate situation if you are comfortable with that to put the college you did take to good use.

You can always go back to school. The only problem is that the longer that you wait, the more you decide to wait or add another year to go back to school. Everyone has problems with their personal lives, Career lives, or just problems period. But you have to over come them one way or another with help and support from the ones that love you the most

Start again at a community college when you’re ready. If you put in a good year or two there, you’ll be able to get back in at a four year if you want.

Be honest about what happened and people will be willing to help you.

You can alwas go back to school and they really can not stop you as long as you fellow there rules. Its sad that this had to happen and really po’s me off, but you have to be careful who you hang out with. I know i lost a lot freinds because of the way they act now then how they use to.

Just tell them what happend and they should be understanding.

you can always start over because it seems to me that the person did not do anything wrong. The victim shouldn’t be punished. if the person hasn’t broke any academic rules then they should be able to go to another school (plagarism for instance). most people dont. know what they want to do until a lot later in life. my mother always told me that as long as you have breath, you can make and change and start over. good luck
