College/Career Question?????

Any of those would probably be OK. My best friend in high school was a Political Science major in college and then went to law school. My own lawyer was a Mathematics major in college before doing law.

Before you apply to law school, you have to take the LSAT (Law School Aptitude Test). If you were an English major or something like that, you’d probably have a tough time with that exam. Maybe you could get a book about the LSAT and see what sort of things it covers, and doesn’t cover.

If you want to go to an Ivy League law school, better go to one of the Ivy League schools for your undergraduate degree, too.

You could go one of two directions. Most law schools are looking for people who can process (read) large amounts of written material and who can write well, so you could do something like Liberal Arts as a way of preparing for law school. Or secondly, you could go into one of the business subject matters to give you some basic business knowledge, since you want to become a corporate lawyer. Of the subjects you mention, those which might be most useful would be Corporate Finance & Accounting, Finance, or Management. I say this as a business professor who also has a law degree.

I am preparing at the moment to try and get into law school with a specialty in Entertainment/Media law and got a BA in Criminal Justice. In checking out the requirements for most programs, it really doesn’t matter what you get your BA in. Whether a science or art major, just try to incorporate courses (can be electives, apart of your major, or in your minor) you feel may help with getting into law school and that may help with your courses (for instance, I am going back before law school to take some communication and music industry courses). So stay with your current undergraduate school and make it fit your needs! Good Luck!

Since it dont matter to you take something you will easily ace, because this way you will be able to earn the highest GPA possible while expending the least amount of effort. Your future candidacy will require more than just grades. If your undergrad major is less work you will have more time to pursue other things that will help you.
