casablanca german background trivia?

In the opening scenes of the movie casablanca, in rick’s cafe, one of the patrons says (if i remember correctly) “I think im going to die in casablanca”. almost overlapping this quote is another line heard in the background of what i believe to be german. My german is amateur but im almsot positive the person is saying the same line but in german, which amuses me endlessly if its true, can anyone confirm this?

If it sounds like ‘Ich denke Ich will in Casablanca tod werden’ then that’s your German equivalent.

The line you refer to is actually spoken by an anonymous man and is:

‘Waiting, waiting, waiting. I’ll never get out of here. I’ll die in Casablanca.

This would translate as:

‘Warten, warten, warten. Ich will aus here nicht gegangen. Ich will in Casablanca toden.’

Hope that helps.

Well, my German is hardly flawless, but i would suggest: Ich will = i want. The will = Die Wille. The line; i think i’m..would translate–Ich glaube (denke) Ich werde (gerade) hier in C sterben; or, ich glaube dass ich hier in C sterben werden. :))
