Otherwise, most scholarships are either private are come from the school itself. The big general state or federal gov’t normally doesn’t deal with scholarships or other financial help.
Don’t look to the gov’t for financial help. Talk to the school’s financial aid office or just search for scholarships on your own.
For the Stafford Subsidized loans, they don’t even accrue interest while you’re in school. Not up until 6 months after graduation do you have to start paying them back (they also start accruing interest at this point). You basically get to use their money (up to $8500/yr) for free. The unsubsidized stafford loans accrue interest while you’re in school, but you still don’t have to pay them back until 6 months after graduation.
