Well I am 17 years old going to be 18 in January and I am a going to be a senior (12th grade) this year. So you can probably figure ages out from there.

The grading system is Elementary school which is grades 1 through 5.

Grade one is usually about 6 or 7 years old.

Grade two about 7 or 8 years old.

Grade three 8 or 9 years old

Grade four 9 or 10 years old

Grade five 10 or 11 years old

Then Middle School which is grades 6 through 8.

Grade 6 is about 11 or 12 years old

Grade 7 is about 12 or 13 years old

Grade 8 is about 13 or 14 years old

Then High School which is grades 9 through 12.

Grade 9 is about 14 or 15 years old

Grade 10 about 15 or 16 years old

Grade 11 about 16 or 17 years old

Grade 12 is about 17 or 18 years old

I’ll give the usual age at the START of each grade–

Kindergarten, 5

1-6

2-7

3-8

4-9

5-10

6-11

7-12

8-13

9-14

10-15

11-16

12-17

That assumes you have a birthday during the school year, so you turn 16 in tenth grade, for example.

9th grade is called Freshman, 10th is sophomore, 11th is junior & 12th grade is called senior year. Then your elementary (and required) education is done.

College usually follows in the fall after the spring graduation of seniors.
