Are the UC’s accepting ACT scores instead of SAT scores now?

But the SAT is always accepted, so it’s not a matter of “instead”.

They’ll still prefer the SAT, but if you get a high enough ACT score, they’ll be willing to look at that too.
Edit: lol, maybe “prefer” was too strong a word. But the SAT is the more traditional test, and by most estimations has always been harder to do really well on. It still just looks better if you do well on the SAT. At least, that’s always been the impression I’ve gotten; it may not be a formal rule. Most places will now look at either, yes, but for a long time many of the better schools only accepted SAT scores. And maybe the UCs have accepted both all along, I just know that some schools used to not take the ACT. Whatever. 🙂
They always have accepted ACT scores. Contrary to what the person who answered before me, UC schools do NOT show any preference to either test. Although UC’s typically get more SAT scores than ACT scores, they do not show any preference to the SAT over the ACT.
