Defend why he lived? I am intrigued by your use of language there… But anyway…

He was not hit in a critical center of the brain. Or he WAS hit in a critical center of the brain, and his functions are now impaired… his speach, his ability to walk or see or think at the level he did before.

People undergo profound brain trauma every day, and they live. It doesn’t need “defending”. It’s easily observable.

many survive after being shot in the head. for a person to live after being shot in the back of the head, where the actual motor skills part of the brain is at, that controls all our breathing, movement etc. is very very rare. and why are you trying to defend this topic. I think you mean define this topic don’t you ? you can research books etc. on the brain that tells you the parts of the brain that controls our body etc.

What was the velocity of the bullet when it hit the head and what part of the head did it hit. For example being grazed by low velocity 22 that was fired 500 yards away is going to produce vastly different results than a 38 that was fired from point blank range into the center of the back of the head

The person sustaining the brain injury could be a survivor in many ways

Where they were shot

What sort of weapon was used

Was there an entry and exit wound

Depeding on where he was shot it might not of hit a part of the brain that determines life or death

If he did survive what is his quality of life ?

maybe because the bullet didn’t hit vital parts of the brain & so didn’t cause any internal bleeding.
