Don’t be nervous of going to m.s, 6th grade goes by quickly and you will do a lot of fun stuff and meet a whole lot of cool teachers and kids, the m.s I went to didn’t have lockers for us to use every period, we only had them for gym time to change our clothes. Also, you’ll get the hang of going to school every morning trust me when you get to college its a lot tougher than m.s.

My dear – calm down. Coming from elementary school and going into middle school is definitely a scary thing however, take a deep breath and calm yourself. I teach middle school and I know when I return, there are going to be so many frightened young people starting a new school for the first time. Here are a few ideas to help you”

1) The night before – and everyday after that – make sure you have everything organized. Orgainzation and time management are the two biggest issues for incoming students. If you start out being organized and timely, try to continue that goal. 2) Make sure you have an Agenda or some kind of organizer so you can record your assignments, class schedules, teachers names, rooms your classes are in. 3) Pay attention to the teacher when you are getting the school and class rules and procedures. If they are not written or passed out (handout) for you, make sure you write them down clearly. If you have questions, write them down so that when your teacher allows you to ask – you will have them at hand. Teachers dont’ mind answering questions, but let her get all the information to you and then ask your questions. If you are ever in doubt, be sure to get with your teacher and ask for help. Never think that a question you ask is silly or insignificant – no question is…3) Make a friend. Smile at others and be kind. Pay attention to where everything is in conjunction with your locker, the restroom, cafeteria, etc.

At our school, students have certain times they can travel to their lockers. I always tell my students – get the books and folders you need for the first three periods -and then return those books and get the next three or four. At the end of the day, get the books and folders, and anything else you need to take home for the day. This will limit you having to go back and forth. (sometimes this doesn’t work for at least two weeks)

Understand that there are going to be many new things going on. Be patient and observant. You will get the hang of things very quickly.

Make sure you get a good night’s rest, eat a good breakfast (everyday), say a little prayer and get it going! You’ll be fine.

omgosh!!!! I am going into eith grade and I started missle school last year…do u know the ppl u r going to school with? If you do then just hang with them…like most your probably dont know other ppl there….here are tips:

1.Have an organizer (like a little booklet you can attach to your binder)

2.This is a great idea! I have to leave at 7 so I hope this helps:

if you care about how you look wake up at 5:30 and TAKE A SHOWER! showers are a good way to wake you up so your arnt tired…I promise!!!

3.I have never taken a bus to school cause im at private school but you will get in the hang of it

4. You can make it to class…trust me you will have TIME i go through the same thing!

It’s normal to be nervous, and I bet a lot of your classmates are as well. Your new school will feel like home before you know it. Getting the bus that early won’t be fun, but it might give you something to complain about with your peers, which is a great way to make friends!! And having a locker is the coolest part. You can hang pictures in it and stickers and magnets. In middle school, my friends and I used to decorate each other’s lockers for our birthdays. Middle school is a lot of fun!

Oh boy. I remember going through the worry of middle school. It’s really not that bad. All you do is get to the bus on time, go to your locker and put your stuff in there, and then go to your first period class probably somehwre around the five minute bell. It’s scary at first, but you’ll get used to it. Just get to your class on time, try not to forget any materials you need, and just have fun! You’re supposed to enjoy middle school. You’ll be fine 🙂 Don’t worry.

between classes you get five minute breaks. since some classes are across the school, your locker is put near most of your classes just grab everything you need at break for 3 and 4 period. and put it all back at lunch and grab everything you need for 5 and 6th period.

and for after school, just take home anything you need for homework.

for 1 and second just have it with you in your back pack to take home everyday. it leaves more space in your backpack.

everyone there is nice nd the older kids wont bother you because they are busy themselves

if you have to catch the bus, just wake up earlier and have everything packed and ready for tomoro like your backpack and your clothes the night before

after school gets started you will pick it up very fast. don’t worry about it. even the first few days, they are very lenient. you will have people there to help you too if you need it. i thought it was fun the first few weeks i was getting used to it. good luck!
