Your views on school uniforms….?

Okay, for us it’s back to school time again. My son just moved up to a new school and now has a school dress code / uniform policy. As a mother on a budget this was a “big deal” for us to have to go out and buy him a “new wardrobe” just so he could attend school. (As they are required to wear only, Khaki, Navy Blue, Hunter Green, White in button up shirts / polos with no logo and dress slacks) But as a mother who cares I can see “some” of the problems the school system is trying to avoid / resolve by enforcing this. (I just don’t think it’s “the answer”)

What are your views, thoughts, and comments about the public school system near you and the dress codes they are / aren’t inforcing?

As a kid whose parents were less-than-wealthy, I sometimes envied students who were forced to wear uniforms because it was very egalitarian. You couldn’t tell by one’s clothes who was rich or poor…. I definitely understand the arguments against uniforms (specifically the restriction on individual expression) but think of the Good Will kids fighting to fit in with the Abercrombie kids…

I quite have been a coaching assistant for 26 years and that i visit furnish you my opinion. i think of school uniforms are ok in the event that they’re quite enforced via all college workers. My college has a gown code and a few instructors are very strict and their babies obey. some instructors do not placed as plenty attempt into imposing the gown code and the youngsters of their classification placed on something and each thing. I quite have had mothers and fathers to question me why some babies placed on issues that their newborn desires to placed on, yet can not. So if faculties want gown codes they ought to have everybody on a similar web site and not confuse the youngsters and their mothers and fathers.

i,m not one for uniforms..i understand a uniform is a signature of the school but its too expensive and boring..does he have to go to that school by you or is there another..i went to catholic school too many years and was one that rebeled the uniform big time, i went to public for 2 years and not only did the same grades had a hell of a better time, i have 2 children now and i will never send my children to catholic school, public is for everyone and i mean everyone and hey thats great, let your children see what this world i made up of they will learn alot more than just their abc’s–about life and that to me is more important than everyone in catholic being from the same egg– and so regimentive–boring..good luck..
