Who said “Those convinced against their will are of the same opinion still”?
I suspect the author is an early 20th Century philosopher who’s last name may be Hubbard.

You probably have in mind this couplet:
“He that complies against his will,
Is of the same opinion still.”
It is from “Hudibras,” by the earlier Samuel Butler (1612-1660)
