“Health sciences” or “allied health services” are terms that many schools use as a undergraduate degree for pre-physical therapy majors and the name of the college in a university in which physical therapy may be housed (respectively).

For instance, one of our local programs will award students who have completed all the PT prerequisites and their general education a BS in “health sciences” once they’ve completed enough credits to earn the degree. However, the degree is meaningless unless they are actually admitted into the graduate phase of the physical therapy program (which is an MS in some schools and doctorate in others). The graduate physical therapy program may be housed in the school of Allied Health Professions (or Services) which usually houses several majors…PT, OT, SLP, nursing, etc. Universities are comprised of several schools…the school of allied health servies may be such a name for one of the schools.

Graduates of a physical therapy program earn either a master’s or doctorate degree IN physical therapy.

(Sorry, i’m no longer the final speller!) i might ask your counselor while you’re nonetheless in HS, or in step with risk consult with a grasp dean or another educational consultant at your college. How lots actual therapists earn might count on their organisation or the place they artwork (at a HS, or as a private gymnasium coach, for a wellbeing midsection, etc.)
