What do you hope to do?

In some cases, you need a college degree (especially in the business world); in other instances, it mens nothing for you

I’m sure you’re a very bright young person. However, the fact is that not everyone is a Bill Gates or Richard Branson. That sort of genius only comes around every so often. Why not get the best education and be prepared for the world?

You say you need some answers? Go to College and get a solid education. Truth is that it’s VERY competitive in the job market and you’ll have a greater chance of success with the college degree than without.

Best of luck to you!

You are looking at the exceptions, and the likelihood that you will be the next Bill Gates is miniscule. Studies have shown that on average, people with a college degree earn $1 million more over the course of their lifetimes than do those without a college degree.

There is a possibility that you can become rich from not going to college. But Remember Bill has his own company and made some smart moves to get where he is. For the rest of us folks, You can survive without some sort of degree. Its easier when you are younger to go to school. When you get older, It gets to be more difficult. Time is more preciouses. Your priorities change, I am going back to school to finish, I am married and work full time to help pay the rent. The fact of the matter is, that instead of quality time with my wife, I am in a class room so that way I can get a better job. Even a 2 year degree is better then none.

Keep in mind that Gates was born to a wealthy family, attended Harvard, and didn’t exactly “drop out.” He took a leave of absence after co-authoring a published paper on computer algorithms. In other words, the guy is pretty bright.

But it REALLY depends on what you want to do as your first career. You might be better off in a trade school or technical school, you might be better off working as someone’s apprentice, or perhaps you would benefit from military experience.

On the other hand, I’ve had a lot of students in their 30s, 40s, 50s and beyond say that they wish they had gone to college earlier when it would have been easier.

Some people don’t go to college and they get lucky. Like my Uncle Bob dropped out of high school and now he is an executive of Cash America. But that is a long shot. You should at least get a Associates Degree(2 yrs.) because it is hard to get somewhere in life with a College Degree. But try to get a Bahelors Degree(4 yrs.), it will help you a lot.

College will open a lot of doors for you. Unless you are a extremely intelligent (like Bill Gates), you will not become a millionaire without going to college. Take a look at this chart which shows that if you have more education, you will make more money over your lifetime: http://www.uwrf.edu/admissions/Degree_to_Income.pdf

The answer is no, if you know what you are doing. A person can become successful without graduating from college. But chances of that are slim.

You should get a college education. It can never hurt. Plus when you become successful, you can say you have a degree instead of becoming another lucky person.

If you’re a super-genius computer geek, then no, you can skip college. Otherwise, I’d say it’s better to have some structure and exposure to different subjects and ways of thinking. Go to college- you’ll really like it and you’re chances of getting a decent job are way better than with a high school diploma alone.

Markus is stable, persist with your bliss. If it comprises college, do exactly it. My youngest son isn’t “academic” yet is in a conservatory software for theater in college and loves it; it incredibly is totally palms on and he does not ought to take one math classification. on the different hand, in case you want to alter into an electrician, plumber, or contractor, don’t be bullied into college. Tradesman could make 50-100k and are respected individuals of the community. better than somebody with a BA in English who works at Starbuks for $9/hour! My son’s perfect buddy is a working laptop or computing device warm shot, on no account went to college, and is a working laptop or computing device IT guy making >$one hundred fifty,000 on Wall street. (that may no longer an city legend!). My son have been given his BS, went to regulation college, and is making $60,000 according to twelve months. (because of the fact he’s takin an exciting job with the Feds quite than uninteresting one with a extreme paying regulation organisation.) Like Markus pronounced, do no longer hear to “actually absolutely everyone.”
