Egyptology degree?

I was told I needed to get a Phd. to get a degree in Egyptology but I contacted a school and they wanted to know if I had a bachelors degree. Do I have to have both?

What you would do is get an undergraduate degree in something like anthropology/archeology or classics. Then do on from there to specialized graduate work in the field of ancient Egypt leading eventually to a Ph.D.

Good luck

In order to complete your degree in Egyptology, you have to memorize The Bangels “Walk Like an Egyptian” song. You have to find out if the ancient Egyptians really walked like that and let a crocodile bite the tip of your ciggarrette off.

A one-year stay in Egypt and you’ll realise you wasted your time by an Egyptology major!

Probably not. Depending on exactly what you think you mean by “Egyptology” the most likely undergraduate degree for you would be anthropology/archeology. Good luck.
