For economics you should do as much possible. Most universities of any decent stature would specify an AS in maths as a minimum, but preferably you should take it to full A-level. Further Maths and a quantitative science like physics will also signal that you can handle numbers, though it doesn’t hurt to show you can write well by having humanities A levels as well.

If you don’t really like Maths don’t do economics and if you don’t do it at A-level I think you’ll find it a pain having to learn more, especially in your first year. Microeconomics in particular is full of pure and discrete maths. Econometrics will require a good grasp of statistics and Macroeconomics is getting increasingly maths based.

Question is a bit vague.

Ask the admission office where you want to go. Math is a requirement for Economics majors. Make sure what you plan to take Will transfer. Many Community Colleges & Universities have articulation agreements, so the students know what is transferable. Your CC counselor may have this document readily available.

You can apply to transfer form a community college to a 4 yr institution at any time.

You will certainly need fairly sound mathematics in a decent university degree course in economics (e.g. LSE). If you really cannot crack maths, try one of the new pretendy universities. It will be a fairly worthless degree but you could probably find some sort of government job created by Gordon Brown.
