If you go during the summer semester, there is no reason you can’t graduate in 3 years. If you take the summers off, probably 4. Most community colleges have two year degrees in psychology, but it would be a transfer degree, not a degree for emplyoment. You probably won’t find employment with a 4 year degree either. Go for a masters or clinical doctorate if you want to be a counselor or psychologist. You need to go to medical school, then get a ephasis in psychology to perscribe meds.

You only need a PhD if you want to do research, or teach at a college.

I have a bachelors degree in psychology. I started at a 2 year junior college, got basic classes under my belt, and then transferred to a 4 year college.

That was almost 30 years ago. But today, I have a very lucrative career in Human Resources.

interior the united kingdom a Psychology PhD takes 3 years of finished time learn. to end a PhD you may desire to have already got a minimum of a BA or BSc Psychology honours degree which takes 3 years of finished time learn in England and four years in Scotland. at the same time because it is not a might desire to-have, you have a extra useful hazard of having usual for a psychology PhD in case you have accomplished a postgraduate Masters degree after your BA/BSc, which takes a extra one million 300 and sixty 5 days of finished time learn. i might propose an MSc in psychological analyze techniques or an MRes degree, that’s a masters of analyze degree, as stable Masters to do until now a PhD. ordinary, you’re observing a minimum of 6 years of finished time learn and in all hazard as much as eight years to bypass from an undergraduate degree to ending a PhD. wish this helps!

If you have no college now, plan 4-5 years. You could take the first two years of basic courses at a Comm coll, then transfer to a 4 yr school.

Go talk to an advisor at the comm coll, tell them what you’re thinking, they will help you.

A Bachelor’s degree may not take you far in this field.

bachelors degree if you are willing to bust you butt can be completed in about 3yrs with a little extra effort. Alot of schools offer it, so it depends on what else you are looking for whether you want to attend a community college or a 4yr college. Also price wise a community college might be a better choice if you don’t want the hassle of thousands in student loans.

4-year college or university. But then to have a psych practice, you also need at least a Masters and PhD. With a bachelors, you can do some family counseling, but not a lot.

I think a councilor needs at least a Masters degree. I don’t think you can even work in the field without at least that much schooling. I think all together it is 12 full time years of schooling…
