Should i stick to it ?

Hi, I am currently pursuing Undergrad degree in Math (planning to do second degree in Economics).

I want to work in Finanial firm (probably in investment Bank doing analysis work once i graduate).

I got this part-time job 4 hr/day as computer operator in investement bank…(have to work for investment advisor and associate advisor).

Its not good paying….but should I stick to this job during my school time as well if I can manage it?

Would it look good on my resume …once i graduate ?

thanks

well if you can manage the job and still get excellent grades, it is worth you staying…now if your job interferes with your academics and isn’t paying you well at all, maybe it is best if you stick to the schooling. It seems like you can manage both, and this will help the resume but it doesn’t make you any better or worse because people can always find a way into something good after they graduate with a great degree like you will have. best luck to you…you can always try it out when school starts and see how it goes for a month and then decide.

My husband just got a job as an investment bank associate (after completing his MBA). It is important to get your name in the industry any way possible. The more experience and knowledge you have about investment banking, the more confident and prepared you will be for the interviews. It will look good on the resume, but more importantly it will give you an insight into the industry. Keep at it if you can handle it, but if it is making your grades suffer I would drop it.

I think you should stick with it. My husband had a similar situation and after he graduated with his masters, he was offered a big promotion. And yes, I do think that it would look great on your resume. Good luck!
