All you have to do is be such an astonishingly good student and all-round person that you get the “free ride”–a scholarship for all four years that covers tuition, fees, room and board, and incidental expenses.

Usually these deals go to athletes rather than scholars.

However, any of us normal people who wants a degree can arrange for student loans, work part-time and summers, and make it without being any good at sports. Our long-term futures are more promising, too.

Not exactly free, but you may qualify for some grants. Check for a FAFSA (free application for student aid) at your local college. Fill it out and see what happens. It is worth a try. There is money out there for people who want to go to school, but cannot afford to.
