UCLA or University of South Florida?
Ok, Im a chemical engineering major that will be transferring from a C.C. to either one of these two universities. I have always wanted to attend UCLA but its too heavily populated. I also always wanted to see other parts of the U.S. and USF would allow me to do that.
If you were in my situation, which one would you choose and why?

USF is a lot cheaper than UCLA but the campus is in the ghetto.
UCLA has a lot better academics than USF but USF is not a bad college.
I would suggest other colleges in Florida like University of Miami if you have the money or Florida State University.
I would recommend University of Florida but if you don’t like universities that are crowded like you indicated then you probably wouldn’t like UF since it has 50,000 students on one campus.

It really sounds like you are leaning more to USF. If that’s the case, then you should go there. UCLA is a big school, but some students from their that I’ve talked to (my school is also in the PAC10) have nothing but good things to say. If the size is daunting, and you really want to see more of the US, then Florida sounds like a good choice for you. Good luck with whatever you chose.

research who has the better program and programs for your future. UCLA would be my pick, there will be alot of people wherever you go really, but it wont be anything too busy. i attend a large university and had the same qualms about there being 26,000 undergrads, but you really dont notice it too much, its manageable.
