How does a chick break open the egg-shell all by itself ????

I was watching animal planet and the chick opened it’s shell by pecking at it and eventually it broke free. The chick is not stupid to break the shell was in it’s instincts or it just wanted to get out of the shell oh and also, the mother of the chick, helps it break the shell if it’s having trouble . <(^_^<)

I just watched a Discovery Channel show on it. Each chick, male or female, is born with one little tooth inside it’s beak at the very tip. It uses this tooth to break free from the shell.

Yes, but if it is having a hard time the mother will help.
