AP classes are on a 5 point scale so they are worth more.

On a 4 point scale A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1, F=0

On a 5 point scale A=5, B=4, etc.

Ok its like this for every 1.0 there are ten parts to it. 1.1 = the same as 1.10 does with dollars. So 1.25 – 1 and 1/4 and 1.50 =1 and 1/2. Look at the numbers just as if they were money.

At schools that use the 5.0 scale for grades

1= an E in any other school

2=D

3=C

4=B

5=A

well differnent school districts may use different scales, like the 4.0 and 5.0 scales that you mentioned, however then you can have a weighted grade point average which takes into consideration the type of classes that you have taken, like honors or advanced placement so then you can have like a 4.2 on a 4.0 scale! hope this helps!!

Are you talking about GPA? If your school is on a 4.0 scale, and someone else’s is on a 5.0 scale (I don’t think I’ve ever heard of that, though), your grade would translate to a 5.0 at that school.

Congrats on the 4.0, though! You rock!

ROFL… edited to add that I didn’t even consider AP! I got B’s and C’s in HS, so that language is foreign to me. Sorry for the ignorance!
