Yet another question about degrees?

Lets talk about batchelors degrees. I have heard of B.A. Batchelor of Arts, and same for science. Does the last part vary depending on what your majoring in?

Contrary to what you may have heard elsewhere, it actually depends completely on the college or university. Every school has its own system.

Many universities award the B.A. (Bachelor of Arts) to students who major in English, History, Religion, Classics, French, Spanish, German, Asian Studies, Women’s Studies, etc.

Many universities award the B.S. (Bachelor of Science) to students who major in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, etc.

Sometimes Psychology, Economics, and other social sciences are majors that lead to the B.A., but sometimes, again, depending on the school, they lead to a B.S. Sometimes, a school will include some courses in the major that lead to the B.S., and others that lead to the B.A.

To further complicate matters, there are many colleges that only offer the B.A., and award it to students of all majors, including the sciences.

Confused yet? 🙂

Really, it just depends on the university or college.
