Yes, you are eligible for a Pell Grant with an EFC of 3340. The EFC maximum for a Pell Grant has changed with the 0708 school year – an EFC from 0-4110 will qualify you for a Pell.

In addition, there are a couple new federal grants – the ACG and the SMART. There are some additional considerations for those, but the main one is you have to be Pell eligible (some of the same for both programs in addition to being eligible for Pell is that you have to be a U.S. citizen and be enrolled in a full-time degree program. After that the qualifications differ since ACG is for 1st and 2nd year students and SMART is for 3rd and 4th year students).

You will want to talk to a financial aid officer at your school for further information/guidance.

Good luck!

To be eligible for a Federal Pell Grant:

You must be an undergraduate student who has not earned a bachelor’s or a professional degree.

Your EFC must be below a certain number, which can vary from year to year. Currently, eligibility for a Pell Grant requires an EFC of less than 3850.

You must not be incarcerated in a federal or state institution.

The data from your Renewal Application or FAFSA (with a valid EFC) must be received by the Financial Aid Office prior to the last day of enrollment for the academic year.
