dadoopie, Lita is 12 and her sister is 6.

L = S + 6

go back and find the age four year ago?

L = 4S

Thats: S + 6 = 4(S)

That means S = 2. keep in mind that was four years ago.

Add 4 to the (S)ister’s 2 and you get 6. Add six to that for Lita’s age and you get 12.

Lita was 6 years older than her sister 6 – 4 = 2 x 4 = 8 years .. Her sister is 8 years old.. 8+6=14 lita is 14 years old.

the difference between their ages will always remain the same right??

so, 4 years ago she was also 6 years older than her sister. so this is the model

4 YEARS AGO

L (lila) |_|_|_|_|

S (sis) |_|

since the difference is 6 yrs, then the 3 units must be 6 yrs.

3u= 6yrs

1u=6yrs divided by 3 = 2yrs

4u= 2yrs X 4 = 8yrs

8yrs= 4 years ago

now= 8yrs+4yrs

= 12 yrs

i’m 12 too… -.-

You have to make a simple algebraic equation to do this, there should only be one answer.

Unfortunately I can’t as was never any good at it!
