Will my degree be worth anything??

I am about to go into my senior year at Appalachian State University, and I am majoring in Child Development: Birth-K. The course load for my major is very intense and stressful, but despite all this, I am afraid that I will graduate and end up in a low paying job that could be done by a high school graduate…does anyone know anything about this major and about the jobs available upon graduation? I just need some uplifting words…

No that’s crap. A college education is always the absolutely best investment you can ever make. I don’t care what your major is, that is always true.

You wouldn’t even be able to GET a job in your field w/o one. The fact that it is hard and you are able to get through it shows potential employers you are far above HS graduates.

Having said that, a masters says the same thing over a bachelors. You’ll do well, but a masters down the line will be just as beneficial as the bachelors is now.

Suck up the hard work. It’ll pass before you know it, and the benefits will change your life.

Nowadays a college degree is not enough. Not only will you need the educational backing of a college degree you will also need the work experience. It is likely you will start off with an entry level position ranging from $11-16hr.
