Will I Ever Catch Up?
My friends took Pre Algebra this year (7th) I didnt. Doesn’t that pretty much mean I can never be in their class? When I take Pre Algreba next year, they’ll take algrebra 1, and so on.

its ok, everybody goes at their own pace. like for me, im a senior and im taking alg.2 summer school classes with juniors. i feel a little behind but there are more ppl like you like there are also some seniors in my class so i dont feel too bad.

I don’t think you will be in their same class until high school, but if you do extremely well in pre-algebra, you could be moved up. Or, you could do summer school and take a class during the summer. I was in that same situation, I was in Pre-Algebra, and my friend was not. She worked very hard and last year we were both in Algebra 1. But, just because you are not in their class, doesn’t mean you are “behind”. Pre-Algebra in 7th grade is very good! :0)

In our school, you can catch up during 10th grade by taking algebra 2 AND geometry at the same time. If you nudge some of the administration, you may be able to take pre algebra as an idependant learning course during the summer.

As one of your friends who took Pre Algebra. You may not be in our math class but you still can be in our classes. Hey maybe if you ask Mr. R for tutoring maybe if you get it pretty quickly then they might move you up classes. Don’t forget about 5th grade where you moved up reading classes it’s the same thing, I know you can do it.

You could work on it during the summer and ask to take a test to move you on ahead when school starts.
