Why is it recommended to go in for office hours?
Here and there, I can remember getting advice about going in for office hours with your professors.
Why do people do go besides for help?
(Mature answers only please, I don’t need some 14 year old telling me: “Dude, so you can sleep with them and get the A!”

let me give you a quick scenario:
I took Organic Chem I which was completly kicking my ***. I knew i was going to fail, so EVERY office hour i was at my professors door with questions. Even if it was just to ask “HOW did you get this answer again?”
My professor got used to seeing my face/ Knew how hard i was apparently trying
I got a C in that class, where i DEF. should have failed
The more they know you, the better they can judge you
The better they judge you, the higher your grades are.
The end!

The reason that you should go in for office hours are because if you go with your professor then you have a better chance on getting personal insight about your work, and hey you never know you may land a higher position…………….

Basically it puts a name with a face. If you have more face time with your professor and you’re borderline A/B B/C whateever, the professor is more likely to say, “hey I remember this person, they tried to get help and they made an effort.” it helped me when I was in school.

Recognition…like everyone said, so the Prof’s can put a name with a face. They are going to consider that when they evaluate your performance in the class. Good Luck!
