What do you mean? Why do students need to be educated on sex? Well, for one, they need to know what happens when they have sex, and they need to be informed on the dangers of having sex like STD’s. Another thing is to inform them on why not to become pregnant and why having a baby during their teen years could be a mistake. And also, they are taught if they do have sex, how to have safe sex and reduce the risk of passing on AID’s/HIV or other sexually transmitted diseases. Students need to be informed on those things so they can make good decisions for themselves. If they weren’t educated, they may not know that these social diseases can be spread that way and that you can get pregnant from sex. California is one of the few states that teaches sex education, yet they have one of the lowest teen pregnancy rates. Coincidence? I think not. Well informed, I would say yes.

Someone has to teach kids about it. Most parents preach abstinance, which is great if your kids stick to it, but most won’t, so they need to be taught what to do in order to stay safe and not make babies.
We were taught sex education in middle school, high school, and college. In middle school, we giggled and thought it was funny. By high school, when they started showing us pictures of STD’s, I have never NOT wanted to have sex so much in my life. It was effective, to say the least!
