Who should I turn to when…?

…my own parents don’t believe in me and I’ve blown off all my friends?

My parents are doubting me when it comes to being accepted into my school’s nursing program. I’ve already been declined twice but they don’t look on the bright side and believe that the 3rd time is a charm. Would you do the same if you were my parents?

And also, my medical insurance comes to play. I have TriCare insurance and their policy is they’ll drop me if I’m not a full-time student. So I have to do something fast for the fall term, this coming August.

i think you should just forget about your parents. do as hard as you can to get accepted and then shove it in their face when you make it.

I can tell you that i was accepted in my university only at the third attempt, so we never know.About your parents i don’t understand why they react like this, but try to figure what is the main reason (on the back) and why they are doing this.I’m sure they only want the best for you, and they have more experience.Try to ask them why they don’t agree and what they suggest for you, then try to show your point of view and proof them in a polite way, that you know what you’re doing, and this is REALLY WHAT YOU WANT.Good luck!

Stay the course. Keep trying. Don’t give up.

Would your parents help you with remedial classes? When I first started college, my picture was next to the word “average” in the dictionary. I signed up for Study Methods and College Reading classes as a hoot. My grades went up ridiculously. I got stupid with confidence. I even got a scholarship.

There are like five major federal aid programs that you can qualify for. Also, there are hospitals you can work for that will help you go to school or make signing deals. There are medically underserved rural areas that make deals with students to help them pay for going to school (in exchange for working for a few years in their small town). Working for a college half-time will get you classes for free.

Hey, parents always believe in their kids. They just try to be hard to make you think outside of their convenient little box they let you live in for 18 plus years. They want to help you make a paradigm shift (look it up).
