the correct term is teacher’s aide,i know because ,i was a teacher’s aide for chapter 1 reading fromm 88-95, then became a title 1 asst which is about the same thing

Although the nouns aid and aide both have among their meanings “an assisting person,” the spelling aide is increasingly used for the sense “helper, assistant”.
