Most jobs require you to be at least 16 unless you meet special conditions. My advice would be to look into babysitting or doing light housework/yardwork in your neighborhood. These kinds of jobs will let you explore different kinds of work, and tend to be much more flexible than other jobs. They can also help you build relationships with people who might be able to connect you with better job opportunities when you get older. If you are interested in babysitting, you should also check out some of the programs offered through Children’s Hospital… they have babysitting classes geared to people your age that can help you get lots of good skills and experience.

Finally, you should be commended on your interest in finding a job. Working can provide you with a wealth of pride, independence, work ethic, and character that will take you far in life. Good luck!

Unless you have a family business, jobs are very limited for a 14 year old.

Some suggestions: car wash, life guard (you’d have to be a strong swimmer, though), deliver newspapers, baby-sit, odd-jobs around your neighborhood, camp counselor, one of those that hand out free samples, or a job at the YMCA.

Hopefully there are some ideas you might use; as I said jobs are limited for someone your age.
