What would they call a profession where writing and graphic design are combined?
I have a Bachelors degree in English but to continue, my heart is not only on writing but graphic or visual communication, such as backgrounds and layouts for brochures and ads, photo touch ups, and even designing web pages. I always thought that enhancing print with visual aids would be worthwhile.
Is there a particular area for this, would it be classified under Communication Arts or Multimedia design? And is it possible to double major in graduate school?

Technical communications is one such field; communications another. Both are available in graduate schools. There are crossovers in grad schools, but, insofar as I can tell, doubling in grad school is less than wonderful as a way to live. The University of Tennessee has graduate curricula in both fields.
