still living it.

I’m somewhat of a wallflower.

i don’t talk to many people and I’m a total eavesdropper :]

but so far I’ve made a few friends, and they seem to enjoy my company. the cliques are super tight, and not many people are approachable…

Personally, I really miss high school. I always did well in school (A’s and B’s). However, I participated in few extracurricular activities. I really wish I had spent more time in these kind of activities, but I can’t change that now. My high school was located in a small town where everyone knew each other and where little crime occurred. When I went to school I always felt safe and I also feel that I got a good education, at least the basics (they didn’t offer as many different kinds of elective courses as surrounding schools did). Now that I am in college, I hope that I will be able to make the best of it so that I don’t have any regrets.

I’m a kind of high strung, anxious person when I’m uncomfortable. When I’m comfortable, I’m off-beat, funny and laid-back.

My high school experience was kind of weird because I actually attended two high schools — a private, religious one (9th and 10th) and a public one (11th and 12th).

The religious school wasn’t too bad, but sometimes I felt left out because a lot of the other students had been attending the school since pre-k, so they’d be friendly to you, but since they didn’t grow up with you, they could be kind of aloof and standoffish. I also felt like a lot of people were hypocritical there because everyone was supposed to be a Christian and they’d cry and carry on during our weekly Chapel service, yet they’d be all bitchy and mean in the cafeteria.

I remember I decided to be different and put blonde streaks in my hair and started wearing a blazer with my uniform instead of a sweater like everyone else, and people started calling me names and picking on my really really hard. I eventually stopped wearing the blazer because I got tired of being a joke.

Public high school was okay. I knew some of the people because I’d gone to public elementary school with them, so I hung with those people. Unlike my private school, they actually had afterschool programs and clubs, so I joined Drama Club and had a great time acting in plays. I got to know a lot of people from that.

I remember being picked on in public pretty bad by this girl in my class and her friend Marques junior year. Marques was a bastard though and he transferred senior year. I was really happy.

So all in all, both high schools weren’t that bad, but I would never want to relive the experience because I like who I am now a lot better. I used to be a lot quieter and scared in HS. I’m bolder and am not as hard on myself now.
