What was college-life like for you?

I went to a college several states away, and lived in dorms for my first two years. That was fun. We had Resident Advisors who looked out for us, and rules, such as being in before the doors were locked at midnight or 1am, so it wasn’t a full blown party all the time, but it was really different being out of my parents’ home. The freedom to come and go, eat or not eat, WHAT to eat, whether to get up in the morning if I just didn’t feel like it…that was odd.

My third year I lived in an apartment off campus and that was a little more challenging, buying my own food, getting to class on snowy days, but it was a lesson in responsibility.

If you don’t lose sight of why you’re going to school in regard to your future, and you make the right choices with your new found freedom, you’ll do fine. Have fun, but work hard!
