what usually happens on the first day of class in the college? pls explain the things that usually go on thank

My first day of class was Chemistry 1A at Berkeley. I stepped into an underground lecture hall that held 800 people. It was bigger than the Chinese Theater in Hollywood.

A prof stood on a huge rotating stage with 3 massive whiteboards. He wrote out his name, office room and hours, times of the midterm and final. He reminded us about lab.

Then he said something like “Today we’ll do a short review, most of you have already had AP chemistry or something similar, so you can just relax before we go into new material next week”. Then, 5 minutes into my first ever university class, the prof started a 50 minute review of all of high school chem.

Oh yeah, he gave homework.

The teacher will take attendance and maybe pass out a syllabus. The syllabus depends on whether the teacher will sell it at the bookstore (like some of mine) or have it online. Either way, they will go over the syllabus. If you’re lucky, you’ll get out early. Just in case, expect to take notes and get some sort of homework. Fuuuuuun.

FYI check out you’re school’s attendance policy. At mine, if you don’t come for the first day, you’ll get dropped from the class.

Usually, professors take roll. They talk about themselves and what will go on in there class over the next semester. They probably will give you a syllabus or tell you where to find one, and go over it. Then they probably will tell you to introduce yourselves (if its a small class). They will tell you what materials you will need too. Its best to get two other students numbers/e-mail address incase you have to miss a day. Good luck! Don’t be scared…its fun!

the usually things happen during the first day of class in college is that you feel the essence of being a stuent.. and also you feel the nervous and shyness.

you will be getting tired by finding your class room as well as you will also be getting late on your first subject class.

the professor will pass out a syllabus and go over what the class is going to be like. some professors like to have everyone introduce themselves. you may have a small assignment, and most likely you get let out early, cause its the first day…depending on what kind of professor you have.
