what the heck is a beaker?
I answered a question on here about a parent trying to break their toddler from a bottle, she wants him to go to a beaker. A few of the other people who answered also mentioned a beaker. The only beaker I know of is the kind used in science labs! Do they want their kid to drink from a sippy cup? Is that what some people call a beaker? I have never ever heard of this in my life.

In this context, a beaker is a wide mouthed drinking cup usually without a handle.

Across the pond in the UK, they use the term “beaker” to describe what Americans call a “coffee mug”.

I take that to mean a sippy cup that won’t fall over.
