Pharmacy school is highly competitive and is a 6-7 year program. You must excel in the natural sciences, especially in chemistry. Most pharmacy students study several hours a day and spend their school breaks interning.

Pharmacists do have the potential to make large amounts of money, but with that comes a large amount of responsibility and liability.

But, there will always be a need for pharmacists. As the US population ages, pharmacists will always be in high demand.

Depends on where you live…what country, what state…

Your best bet would be to go talk to someone who already is a pharmacist. Ask them these questions…(most people LOVE giving advice about their chosen career)…check with schools available who offer this as a curriculum and see what the requirements are…you’ll need to do a little homework on your own on this one…

You would need to have a bachelor’s degree, probably a major in chemistry. Then you would apply for a graduate pharmacy program. I think eight years total for both. Then you could work in a pharmacy (store or hospital) or for a pharmaceutical company. I have seen large sign on bonuses advertised and I think they make close to 6 digit salaries. It would be a stable field to be in.
