What should I major in?

I want to go to medical school, but I’m not sure what I should major in in college. I’ve heard that Pre-Med is actually a really bad idea…if, for some reason, med school doesn’t work out, I’d like to have a degree that I could teach with…also, it’s kind of un-related, but does anyone know about Hillsdale University? It’s a liberal arts university in Michigan. Thanks!
