In high school im in 3 AP Classes, and im going for soccer and track. Any tips on what i should do in general? Sports?Firendships? Relationships? ect

First of all, relax. Freshman year is not that hard. Your school should have an orientation day or week. Ask about that. It will include a tour of the school. You’ll also get a student handbook in most high schools. That will tell you the rules, fees, policies, etc.

Get to know your counselor. Unlike grade school and junior high, the counselor also functions as an academic advisor. S/he can steer you toward the right electives or programs to prepare for college, testing prep for college, etc. They are also there to help with any adjustment issues you may have. Once school gets underway, find out when you can meet your counselor. Good high schools will already have this as part of your agenda.

Sports groups are probably already forming. Contact the school and ask to speak to the coach for the sport you are interested in joining.

Socially, most students will not be out to get you. You’ll know by instinct who you should associate with and who to avoid just like you learned in grade school. Just be friendly.

Don’t spread yourself too thin in the first year. One sport and maybe one club should be enough until you learn the ropes.

Enjoy high school, some adults say it was the best years of their lives.

Well I was a freshman last year. At first I was really nervous. But I never did get lost and nothing terriable happened to me. On the first day I asked one techer for help on finding a class, which I suggest for you to do if you need to. I had lunch with most of my best friends and most classes with people I liked.lol. Don’t worry about being picked on. I’m sure everyone will notice how athletic you are. Just be yourself. I hope I helped some.

Just be yourself. in high school they don’t really care. Only the immature people(yeah its sad that there are still immature people in high school but its true) really care about the way people look. I say you should keep taking AP classes and doing sports because it increases your chances of getting into the college of your choice(if you are planning on going) and it just looks good on your record.

uhmm…..be yourself?

Who cares if you are made fun of for being smart? Would you rather be stupid? Be yourself, because in a couple of years, I bet that you will be so much better off in life than the jocks that made fun of you in junior high.
