If you haven’t already decided where you want to go, this is your last chance to visit some possible colleges. You might want to start thinking about what you might write about for your essays, since once school starts in Fall, you will be busy. If you haven’t already done enough done enough community service, you might do something along that vein over the summer. If you haven’t yet taken your SATs or gotten the scores you wanted, this is your chance to study. Otherwise, you might want to work to save up a little money toward college so that you can take advantage of extra opportunities there (study abroad, alternative breaks, ski trips, etc.). I disagree with the poster who said that colleges want to see that you have work experience; most don’t care about this at all, but the fact is that you may need this for financial reasons.

If you already know what you are going to major in, that would be a big help. You could be an intern somewhere. Otherwise, just get a job like working at Starbucks or something. Colleges like to see that you have some work experience. You could also take some course at a university or community college, as that looks good on college applications also.

Try taking classes at a community college. These classes tend to cost less than they would at a 4 year college, and they are the same thing (just cheaper!). Take something that would definitely transfer, check for that. It is best to take a GE class, such as Speech or any 100 level class that will count towards your GE.
Or, try to work and save up money for the college year.
