What major should I chose?

My school doesnt have a hospitality major but they do allow students to creat their own major. Should I create my own major, or chose something that is closely related although the classes will bore me? I plan on attending culinary school after I get my bachelors, and I want something that will compliment my future training.

design your own major! just make sure it’s classes that interest you and that it has a main cohesive theme. you’re lucky to go to a school that allows you to do so, i would say run with it

You could, but hospitality is something that is hard to do well without facilities. You might do better to find something which can be done well there. To complement culinary school, maybe some kind of regional studies, or a language, or some type of art, or even history (you could specialize in culinary history).

Here at the University of Florida you can major in closely related subjects at the College of Agriculture and Life Science. You can major in either Food Science, Nutritional Science, Dietetics, or what about business by majoring in Management. They all closely related. Sometimes designing your major is not a very good idea. Good luck in your career aspirations! 🙂

RAWR.
DON’T create your own major.

That’s something a hippie would do.
